How Often Should You Wash Your Bedding?

For a good night's sleep, you need bed sheets that are both comfortable and clean. But a question everyone has thought about at some point, how often should you actually change your sheets?

Why You Should Wash Your Sheets Regularly

It's easy to think that if your sheets look clean (especially if they are white or light coloured) then they must be, but this isn't necessarily the case. Over time, sweat, dirt, and oils from your body can accumulate on your sheets and create an ideal environment for bacteria to grow. This can cause problems like acne, rashes, asthma or allergies.

How Often Should You Wash Your Sheets?

The answer is…it depends! There are lots of reasons you might need to change your bedding more often; if you have pets, your partner, the weather and illness being a few. Generally speaking, you should change your sheets once a week or at least once every two weeks. However, if you suffer from allergies or asthma you may want to do it more often.

While it's tempting to put off changing your sheets until "tomorrow," to keep yourself healthy (and get better quality sleep!) switch out those old sheets for some fresh ones! After all, who doesn’t love settling down into fresh clean bedding.
